Journey to Dwarka, the legendary kingdom of Lord Krishna, and travel down the scenic Arabian Sea coast to Somnath, home to the first of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas. En route, explore rich coastal heritage and historic sites in Porbandar, making this compact itinerary an ideal blend of devotion, culture, and coastal landscapes.
Itinerary
Day 01 :
Arrival in Ahmedabad & Travel to Dwarka
- Morning: Arrive at Ahmedabad airport or railway station. Meet your driver and begin the long but scenic drive to Dwarka. The journey will take a considerable portion of the day.
- Afternoon: Stop for lunch at a roadside dhaba or a restaurant on the way.
- Late Afternoon/Evening: Arrive in Dwarka and check into your hotel. After freshening up, head to the main Dwarkadhish Temple (Jagat Mandir) for the evening aarti.
- Overnight Stay: Dwarka
Day 02 :
Dwarka - Bet Dwarka, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, and Rukmini Devi Temple
- Morning: After breakfast, travel to Okha port to take a ferry to Bet Dwarka. This island is believed to be the ancient residence of Lord Krishna.
- Afternoon: Return to the mainland and visit the Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple is famous for a large, artistic statue of Shiva.
- Late Afternoon: On your way back to the hotel, visit the Rukmini Devi Temple, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Krishna's chief queen, Rukmini.
- Evening: Enjoy the serene coastal atmosphere. You can take a walk along Gomti Ghat or visit Sudama Setu.
- Overnight Stay: Dwarka
Day 03 :
Dwarka to Somnath via Porbandar
- Morning: After an early breakfast and hotel check-out, begin your journey to Somnath.
- En-route (Porbandar): Stop in Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. Visit Kirti Mandir, the memorial house, and the nearby Sudama Mandir, a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna's childhood friend.
- Afternoon: Continue your journey to Somnath. Check into your hotel upon arrival.
- Late Afternoon: Visit Bhalka Tirth, a significant pilgrimage site where Lord Krishna is believed to have been mistakenly shot by a hunter's arrow.
- Evening: Head to the main Somnath Temple, the first of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Attend the evening aarti and soak in the spiritual ambiance. You may also catch the "Jay Somnath" Sound and Light Show.
- Overnight Stay: Somnath
Day 04 :
Somnath Sightseeing & Departure to Ahmedabad
- Morning: After breakfast, visit Triveni Sangam Ghat, the sacred confluence of the Hiran, Kapila, and mythical Saraswati rivers. You can also visit Gita Mandir and Dehotsarg Tirth.
- Late Morning: Check out from your hotel.
- Afternoon: Begin your final journey back to Ahmedabad for your onward travel. The drive will take approximately 7-8 hour
